Volleyball Recap: Chase Trojans vs. Cherryville Ironmen
Chase was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of the Cherryville Ironmen by a score of 3-2. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ironmen apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
Chase took a 2-0 lead headed into the third set, but sadly they lost the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 24-26, 27-25, 25-21, 15-10.
Camryn Shirley was a one-man wrecking crew for Cherryville as she had 17 digs and two aces.
Chase's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Cherryville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chase will challenge East Rutherford at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cherryville, they will head out to take on Shelby at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
