West Point has gone a perfect 8-0 against New Hope recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Green Wave will venture away from home to challenge the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with West Point sitting on eight straight victories and New Hope on five.

West Point is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 51-7 win over Caledonia. Given the Green Wave's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked first, while the Cavaliers are ranked 143rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

West Point's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quentin Thompson led the charge by rushing for 71 yards, while also picking up 55 receiving yards. Kingston Branham was another key rusher, rushing for 66 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: West Point was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 271 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, New Hope owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They put the hurt on Pontotoc with a sharp 20-0 victory. The 20-point effort marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

West Point better keep an eye on Jacob Jefferson. He was instrumental in New Hope's win, rushing for 85 yards and one score on only 11 carries, while also catching one touchdown.

West Point's record is now 8-0. As for New Hope, their record now sits at 6-2.

West Point was able to grind out a solid win over New Hope in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, winning 14-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Green Wave since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
