It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but West Ashley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Ashley Ridge Swamp Fox 5-4. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 12-8 victory the Swamp Fox walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

West Ashley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Ashley Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. West Ashley will take on rival James Island at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Ashley Ridge is set to face off against their familiar foe Fort Dorchester at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Swamp Fox 3.7, the Patriots 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
