Baseball Game Preview: Freedom Patriots vs. Wharton Wildcats

Freedom is 1-9 against Wharton since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Freedom will face off against Wharton at 7:00 p.m.

Freedom's tournament run continued when they took on Seffner Christian on Wednesday. Freedom fell just short of Seffner Christian by a score of 5-4.

Devon Acord was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 12 contests. Liam Harris also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wharton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over Robinson on Wednesday. Wharton's win was all the more impressive since the Knights were averaging only four runs allowed on the season.

Wharton got a big performance out of Drew Cobb, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Justis Meadows, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Freedom's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Wharton, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

Freedom couldn't quite finish off Wharton in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can Freedom avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
