Soccer Game Preview: Douglas vs. Cholla

The Douglas Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Cholla Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cholla took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Douglas, who comes in off a win.

Douglas took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Sahuarita a 6-0 shutout. That six goal margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Meanwhile, Cholla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against Rio Rico, falling 6-0.

Douglas is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those five matches. As for Cholla, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.

Douglas beat Cholla by a goal when the teams last played back in November of 2024, winning 2-1. Will Douglas repeat their success, or does Cholla have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
