CANTON, Ill. -
Pekin (Ill.) put up 21 points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 50-26 victory over
Canton (Ill.).
After taking the lead on a
Chase Poole touchdown run in the first quarter, the Dragons were up 22-13 at the half.
Pekin grew its lead to 10 points entering the fourth quarter. PHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by
Sebastian Fuller.
A 38-14 Pekin victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Pekin, which was coming off a 45-14 defeat at the hands of Metamora in its previous game. The win broke Pekin's two-game losing streak.
In a Mid-Illini game next week Canton (1-6) takes on Morton, and Pekin (4-3) will go up against East Peoria also in a Mid-Illini game.
