Volleyball Recap: Ontario Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Ontario had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Willard Crimson Flashes on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-16, 25-15.

Annie Weaver paced Ontario's offense, picking up nine kills. Weaver got some help from Piper Studer and her 13 assists. Sara Wharton controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Willard found their leader in sophomore Alexis Rettig, who had 14 digs.

Ontario has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Clear Fork on the 21st. As for Willard, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Seneca East on the 18th.
