Volleyball Recap: Oak Creek Falls Short Against Ranked Arrowhead

Oak Creek faced Arrowhead in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Knights lost 3-0 to the Warhawks. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Warhawks: they've now lost three in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-22, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Oak Creek still got an impressive performance from Claire Mank, who had 21 digs and three assists. Julia Schneider also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Arrowhead was led to victory by Georgia House and Kenzie Draeger. House had 13 digs and one assist, while Draeger had ten digs. Those ten digs gave Draeger a new career-high.

Oak Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 20-14. As for Arrowhead, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-12 record this season.

Oak Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Waukesha West on the 4th. As for Arrowhead, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Pewaukee on the 1st.
