After flying high against Iroquois last Friday, Sharon came back down to earth. The Sharon Tigers took a 67-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Meadville Bulldogs. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Meadville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Burchard, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. Burchard's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Luteran, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 19 points in addition to six boards and three steals.
Having lost for the first time this season, Sharon fell to 3-1. As for Meadville, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sharon will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Iroquois at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Meadville, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against North East at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
