Volleyball Game Preview: Cannon Cougars vs. Sun Valley Spartans + How To Watch

The Cannon Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Sun Valley Spartans at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Thursday, Cannon didn't have quite enough to beat Charlotte Country Day School and fell 3-2.

Cannon took Charlotte Country Day School into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-22, 23-25, 21-25, 15-8.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Sun Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Cuthbertson by a score of 3-2.

Sun Valley couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Cuthbertson a tough time in the third set. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-20, 29-31, 22-25, 15-13.

Cannon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Sun Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.

Everything went Cannon's way against Sun Valley when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as Cannon made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
