The Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes will face off against the Eureka Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Abingdon/Avon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Abingdon/Avon and Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Tornadoes came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 8-4 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Eureka entered their tilt with Lexington on Wednesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Minutemen.

Eureka pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Abingdon/Avon, their record now sits at 8-4.

Abingdon/Avon suffered a grim 14-3 defeat to Eureka in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Tornadoes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
