Baseball Game Preview: St. Joseph Flyers vs. St. Augustine Knights

St. Joseph has gone 9-1 against St. Augustine recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Flyers will take on the Knights at 4:00 p.m. St. Joseph is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.

St. Joseph had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Saint Mary's Hall last Tuesday. The Flyers put the hurt on the Barons with a sharp 12-5 victory. Considering the Flyers have won 16 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, St. Augustine lost 13-4 to San Antonio Christian on Tuesday.

St. Joseph's win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for St. Augustine, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

St. Joseph took their win against St. Augustine in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 12-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Flyers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
