Volleyball Recap: Alayna Martinez Key Part of Team Effort in Mustangs Win

There's no place like home for Nixon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Juarez-Lincoln Huskies with a sharp 3-0 win on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won eight in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-19, 25-9.

Nixon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alayna Martinez led the charge by getting eight digs and two aces. What's more, Martinez racked up 21 assists, the most she's had since back in September. Kylie Vega was another key player, getting 11 digs and five aces.

Nixon's win bumped their record up to 20-17. As for Juarez-Lincoln, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-23.
