Soccer Game Preview: Glenelg vs. Walkersville

The Glenelg Gladiators will face off against the Walkersville Lions on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Glenelg barely beat Reservoir the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Gladiators' defense stepped up to hand the 'Gators a 3-0 shutout on Friday. Considering Glenelg have won eight contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Walkersville rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Falcons. The result kept Walkersville happy, as they haven't lost a game since September 30th.

Walkersville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five matchups. As for Glenelg, their victory bumped their record up to 12-0.
