Basketball Recap: Big Sandy Comes Up Short

Big Sandy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were dealt a 73-11 loss at the hands of the Hawkins Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1542nd, while the Hawks are ranked 305th).

Big Sandy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Hawkins, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 24-1.

Big Sandy will square off against Harleton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hawkins, they will challenge Linden-Kildare at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hawkins' defense has only allowed 27.4 points per game this season, so Linden-Kildare's offense will have their work cut out for them.
