Basketball Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Spring Valley Timberwolves and fell 99-25. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 59-16.

Despite the loss, Riverside saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jada Ward posted five points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cianna Groom, who earned four points and four blocks.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Spring Valley, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Riverside will challenge Capital at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverside is facing Capital at the right time seeing as Capital is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Spring Valley, they will take on Cabell Midland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
