Volleyball Game Preview: Reno Huskies vs. Spanish Springs Cougars

The Reno Huskies are taking a road trip to face off against the Spanish Springs Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Spanish Springs will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Reno extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. Everything went the Huskies' way against North Valleys as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Reno never let North Valleys on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 27-25, 25-8.

Meanwhile, Spanish Springs got the win against Hug on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Spanish Springs took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-2, 25-13, 25-3.

Reno better focus on containing AJ Robinson and Hailey Husted as the pair were huge in Spanish Springs' win. Robinson had five digs and two aces, while Husted had seven aces and three digs. Robinson is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

Reno's record now sits at 13-6. As for Spanish Springs, their record is now 20-7.

Reno might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Spanish Springs in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
