Baseball Recap: Arroyo Find Success

Arroyo let Bell Gardens stack four runs on them in the seventh inning on Monday but luckily Arroyo prevailed anyway. The Knights narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lancers 6-5. Six seems to be a good number for the Knights as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Arroyo saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andres Mardueno, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run. Another was Gio Perez, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Arroyo pushed their record up to 11-8-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bell Gardens, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Arroyo will look to defend their home field on Monday against Rosemead at 3:30 p.m. As for Bell Gardens, they will head out on the road to square off against Calvary Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
