Basketball Recap: Iola Comes Up Short

Iola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 67-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Normangee Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1278th, while the Panthers are ranked 426th).

Iola's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Normangee, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Iola and Somerville will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Normangee, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Normangee Panthers take on the Centerville Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Normangee's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
