Softball Recap: Vernonia Comes Up Short

Vernonia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 19-0 to the Clatskanie Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 16-0 loss on Friday.

Vernonia's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Clatskanie, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Vernonia will square off against rival Gaston at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Clatskanie is set to take on their familiar foe Knappa at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are on a six-game streak of home wins, the Loggers a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
