ALA - Gilbert North took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Estrella Foothills, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Wolves 3-2 on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was ALA - Gilbert North who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 17-25, 25-13, 15-25, 15-10.

Leading ALA - Gilbert North to victory were Hanna Walker and Jane Taylor. Walker had seven digs and two aces, while Taylor had five digs and four aces. That's the most aces Taylor has posted since back in August.

They weren't the only good server: ALA - Gilbert North was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Estrella Foothills still got an impressive performance from Giselle Wochner, who had 11 digs and two aces.

ALA - Gilbert North now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Estrella Foothills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.

ALA - Gilbert North will be playing in front of their home fans against Crismon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Estrella Foothills, they will challenge Paradise Honors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
