Basketball Recap: Terry Sanford Takes a Loss

Terry Sanford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 50-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the E.E. Smith Golden Bulls. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

E.E. Smith found their leader in sophomore Tre Williams, who went 8 for 19 en route to 23 points and three steals. Williams' evening made it 17 games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus 'MJ' Mcduffie, who went 6 of 9 to rack up 12 points.

Terry Sanford's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for E.E. Smith, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Terry Sanford will welcome Western Harnett at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Terry Sanford is facing Western Harnett at the right time seeing as Western Harnett is stuck on a 21-game losing streak. As for E.E. Smith, they will face off against Westover at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Westover comes in on three and E.E. Smith on four.
