Baseball Recap: Camden Takes Down A.C. Flora in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Camden had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the A.C. Flora Falcons by a score of 6-3. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Falcons back in April, they had to take a 11-1 loss.

Zechariah Haney made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one double. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brady Furniss, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Chandler Johnson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Camden's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-11. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for A.C. Flora, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 18-8-1 record.

As of now, neither Camden nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
