Softball Recap: Lewisburg Patriots vs. DeSoto Central Jaguars        
        
		
            
 On Tuesday, Lewisburg faced DeSoto Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Lewisburg Patriots came out on top against the DeSoto Central Jaguars by a score of  7-2. The  win was familiar territory for Lewisburg who now have five in a row.
  Emma Abrams spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in eight consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  Leah Nevarez was  incredible,  going 1-for-3 with a  home run and three  RBI.  Leona Klaire Stokes was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.
 On DeSoto Central's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Kaylee Tucker, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI.
 Lewisburg is  on a roll lately: they've  won 11 of their last 12 games,  which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record  this season. As for DeSoto Central, they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 13-6.
 Coincidentally,  the pair will both be playing Oxford the next time they take the field. Lewisburg will  host Oxford at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday, while DeSoto Central will head out to face them  at 6:15  p.m.  on Tuesday.
