Baseball Recap: Poca Comes Up Short

Poca was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 16-6 to the Braxton County Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 back in March.

Poca saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Legg, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 1-for-3. Another was Preston Bonnett, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Poca's record now sits at 1-8. As for Braxton County, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poca will host Tolsia at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Braxton County, they will welcome Ritchie County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
