Basketball Recap: EVAN EGANS's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Crosby over Heights

Crosby lost against Heights back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Crosby Cougars took a 47-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Heights Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 585th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 278th).

Crosby's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was EVAN EGANS, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of PHILLIP JACKSON, who had six points and seven rebounds.

Leading Heights to victory were Dj Baines and Micah Malone. Baines earned 13 points and three steals, while Malone put up nine points and three steals.

Crosby is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8. As for Heights, their record now sits at 9-6.

Crosby wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-34 win against Fort Bend Dulles on the 7th. As for Heights, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 37-35 victory against Ball on the 7th.
