Wesson had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Jefferson Davis County Jaguars on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Cobras, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Wesson got a massive performance out of Baylor Smith, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Cooper Neely, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Wesson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They are 12-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Wesson pushed their record up to 16-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Jefferson Davis County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Wesson beat the Jaguars by a score of 18-0 later that day.
