Preview: Druid Hills Red Devils vs. Stephenson Jaguars
Druid Hills has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Stephenson Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Druid Hills' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 games.
Druid Hills scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Miller Grove 109-46 at home. Given Druid Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while Miller Grove is ranked 464th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Stephenson pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 77-58 to Hapeville Charter. Stephenson has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Druid Hills' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 89.0 points per game. As for Stephenson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Druid Hills didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Stephenson in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 45-41 victory. Does Druid Hills have another victory up their sleeve, or will Stephenson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
