Softball Recap: Elkhart Takes a Loss

Elkhart started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Valparaiso. They fell 8-3 to the Vikings on Saturday.

Addison Reid was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs.

Elkhart's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-9. As for Valparaiso, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-12.

Looking ahead, Elkhart will take on Penn at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Kingsmen will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Valparaiso, they are taking a road trip to face off against Hobart at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Brickies have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
