Softball Recap: Sam Rayburn Comes Up Short

Sam Rayburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Dawson Eagles, falling 16-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-1 back in March.

Sam Rayburn's defeat dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Dawson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-12-1.

Looking ahead, Sam Rayburn will square off against Dobie at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Texans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Longhorns have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Dawson, they will face off against Alvin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
