Durango waltzed into their game on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Eldorado Firehawks a 7-0 shutout. The Trailblazers' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four contests.

Eldorado's batters probably weren't too happy with Alexander Mercurius, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 13 Ks (he gave up a single walk). Mercurius has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Carson Crosby was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jon Turner, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Durango's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Eldorado, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

Coming up, Durango will square off against Rancho at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Trailblazers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Eldorado, they will face off against Bonanza at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bengals will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Firehawks surely won't give up without a fight.
