Basketball Recap: Emporia Comes Up Short

Emporia was the 61-56 winner over Hayden when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Emporia Spartans received a blow on Friday as they fell 51-37 to the Hayden Wildcats. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Emporia's record is now 10-6. As for Hayden, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Emporia will take on Washburn Rural at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Washburn Rural knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Emporia likes a good challenge. As for Hayden, they will challenge Manhattan on Tuesday.
