Volleyball Recap: Labette County Takes a Loss

Labette County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Chanute Blue Comets. If the Grizzlies were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Blue Comets when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-12.

Amery Baker paced Labette County's offense, picking up six kills. Baker really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with five. Kylie Roberts controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Labette County's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Chanute, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Labette County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Fort Scott on the 18th. As for Chanute, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Erie on the 20th.
