Recap: Canterbury Cougars vs. Oasis Sharks
The Canterbury Cougars were the 68-41 winner over the Oasis Sharks when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Canterbury took a 59-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oasis. While losing is never fun, Canterbury can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 614th, while Oasis is ranked 289th).
Oasis was led to victory by Brendan Overbaugh and Javarius Jackson. Overbaugh dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Jackson scored 29 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Overbaugh has scored at least 25% of Oasis' points. Rex Williams was another key contributor, scoring 3 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Canterbury and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Oasis, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canterbury will face off against Cape Coral at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oasis, they will head out on the road to face off against Neumann at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neumann is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
