Softball Game Preview: White River Valley Wolverines vs. Shoals Jug Rox

The White River Valley Wolverines will take on the Shoals Jug Rox at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

White River Valley is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Bloomfield on Wednesday. They lost 8-2 to the Cardinals. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolverines in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost four in a row.

White River Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miah Duncan, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Shoals was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Wood Memorial, falling 26-6.

Hadley Haulk was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Brilyn Chandler also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Shoals' defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for White River Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.
