Volleyball Recap: Zumbrota-Mazeppa Comes Up Short

Zumbrota-Mazeppa was the 3-2 winner over Kenyon-Wanamingo when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2 on Monday. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 25-21 in the first set.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa took Kenyon-Wanamingo into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-19, 25-18, 23-25, 15-13.

Emilie Jarvis was a one-woman wrecking crew For Kenyon-Wanamingo. as she had 29 digs and four assists. That's the most digs Jarvis has posted over her last six contests.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Kenyon-Wanamingo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa will host Kasson-Mantorville at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kenyon-Wanamingo, they will head out on the road to square off against United South Central at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
