Softball Preview: Perryville Panthers vs. Joppatowne Mariners

Perryville has gone a perfect 5-0 against Joppatowne recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Panthers will welcome the Mariners at 6:00 p.m. Perryville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Perryville turned things around against Tome last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 13-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

Taegan Spier was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Spier was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
