Basketball Recap: Pioneer's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to 11

Pioneer waltzed into their matchup on Friday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They put the hurt on the McAllen Memorial Mustangs with a sharp 41-21 win. The Diamondbacks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Pioneer had a senior duo take command as Anika Fleischmann dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards and Kassandra Garcia posted ten points along with eight assists and five rebounds. Garcia is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 27 games she's played. Ebonie Chatman was another key player, putting up six points in addition to 11 rebounds and four steals.

Pioneer has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a massive bump to their 22-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for McAllen Memorial, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 23-10.

Pioneer didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 48-24 victory against McAllen on the 20th. McAllen Memorial has also already played their next contest, a 48-42 defeat against Vela on the 21st.
