Volleyball Recap: Brooke Lam and Ava Furumoto Secure Win for Diamond Bar

Diamond Bar lost to Tustin back in October of 2019, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Brahmas were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Tillers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Brahmas.

While Diamond Bar won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-22, 25-19.

Leading Diamond Bar to victory were Ava Furumoto and Brooke Lam. Furumoto had four digs and four aces, while Lam had seven digs and three aces. Lam is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

They weren't the only good server: Diamond Bar was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in four consecutive matches.

Diamond Bar's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Tustin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Coming up, Diamond Bar will welcome Los Altos at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tustin, they are taking a road trip to take on Valencia at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Tillers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
