Baseball Recap: Chapman Takes a Loss

Chapman was the 8-7 winner over Marysville when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Irish fell 16-11 to the Bulldogs on Tuesday.

Jed Moody was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Benson Smiley was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Chapman has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Marysville, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Chapman will head out on the road to square off against Russell at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marysville, they will be playing at home against Valley Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.17 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
