Southridge hadn't done well against Mountainside recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Southridge Skyhawks enjoyed a cozy 63-46 victory over the Mountainside Mavericks. Given the Skyhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Mavericks are ranked 54th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southridge pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Mountainside, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Southridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-42 victory against Jesuit on the 4th. Mountainside has also already played their next contest, a 69-46 win against Beaverton on the 4th.
