Basketball Recap: Carter Subelka's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Oskaloosa over Kansas City Christian School

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Oskaloosa can now relate to. They fell 66-53 to the Kansas City Christian School Panthers on Thursday. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Oskaloosa's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Subelka, who shot 63% from the field to rack up 13 points and five rebounds. Those 13 points gave Subelka a new career-high. Richie Rockhold was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Even though they lost, Oskaloosa smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. This was only their second loss (out of six games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Oskaloosa's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Kansas City Christian School, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Oskaloosa nor Kansas City Christian School have any future games scheduled.
