Recap: Warrensburg Burgers vs. Salem Generals

The Warrensburg Burgers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Salem at home to the tune of 88-16. Warrensburg has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Warrensburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brady Cheney out in front who shot 6-for-12 from deep and dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cheney has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Steve Schloss, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds.

Patrick Stone and Blaise Barrett certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Stone scored three points along with six rebounds and two blocks, while Barrett scored two points.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Salem struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

The win was the third in a row for Warrensburg, bringing their record for this year to 10-4. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 44 points. As for Salem, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warrensburg won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Corinth at 1:30 p.m. on January 20th. Corinth has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Salem, they will head out on the road to square off against Argyle at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Argyle's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Salem has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
