Basketball Recap: Northwood Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Northwood had won 17 straight home games dating back to last season and Cam Fowler did his part to make it 18 on Thursday. The Northwood Chargers walked away with a 59-52 win over the Chatham Central Bears thanks in part to Fowler, who went 11 for 18 en route to 30 points and five rebounds. His evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Beau Harvey, who posted five points along with ten assists and seven boards. That's the most assists he has posted since back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Chatham Central lost, don't look at Reid Albright. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Albright is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last 33 games he's played dating back to last season. Brennen Oldham was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 10 points and eight boards.

Northwood's record now sits at 14-2. As for Chatham Central, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 10-2 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwood won't have much time to rest: their next game is against North Moore at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Northwood's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Chatham Central, they and Southeast Alamance will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Chatham Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season.
