Baseball Game Preview: Larkin Royals vs. Glenbard South Raiders

Larkin is 0-10 against Glenbard South since May of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Royals will head out on the road to square off against the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Larkin has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Larkin is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Wednesday. They lost 11-3 to Glenbard East.

Larkin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aden Mora, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Glenbard South's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Elgin on Wednesday. The shutout was out of character for the Raiders seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Owen Marshall was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

This is the second loss in a row for Glenbard South and nudges their season record down to 12-14. As for Larkin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-21.

Larkin couldn't quite get it done against Glenbard South in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 10-5. Can the Royals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
