Hayden proved they can win big last Friday (they won by seven) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Superior Panthers 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-1 back in March.

Hayden has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Superior, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hayden will square off against Morenci at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lobos are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Superior, they will take on Maryvale Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
