Louisa County is a perfect 7-0 against Goochland since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Goochland took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Louisa County, who comes in off a win.
Louisa County came out on top against Albemarle on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Lions blew past the Patriots 10-0. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.
Lily Ruckle looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Emmaline Moore was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Laci Garrett, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Louisa County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Albemarle only posted a batting average of .111.
Meanwhile, Goochland didn't have quite enough to beat Fluvanna County on Tuesday and fell 4-3. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Flying Flucos recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Riley McCain was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She tossed 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. McCain was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kyndall Shapiro made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
Louisa County is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Goochland, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Everything went Louisa County's way against Goochland in their previous meeting back in April, as Louisa County made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
