Basketball Recap: Struthers Takes a Loss

Struthers had lost 11 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-3 to make it 12. They fell 53-44 to the McKinley Red Dragons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 48-42 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February.

As for McKinley, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-4 record. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.

McKinley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trey Davis led the charge by dropping a double-double with 12 points and 16 boards. With that strong performance, Davis is now averaging an impressive 9.2 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Alex Doyle, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards.
