Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Mountain Crest

Mountain Crest had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against the Star Valley Braves as they made off with a 49-25 victory. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 24 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain Crest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Leighton Pratt, who posted six points in addition to nine rebounds and four steals. Pratt is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Bella Carroll, who had 13 points and six rebounds.

Mountain Crest smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Mountain Crest pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Star Valley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-6.

Mountain Crest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-42 victory against West Field on the 4th. As for Star Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 56-38 loss against Preston on the 4th.
