Basketball Game Preview: Whitman Vikings vs. Wootton Patriots

The Whitman Vikings will face off against the Wootton Patriots on Friday. Whitman will be strutting in after a victory while Wootton will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Monday, Whitman beat Walter Johnson 54-43. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Wootton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Bethesda-Chevy Chase, falling 60-34. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Barons are ranked 24th).

Wootton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Whitman, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.

Whitman beat Wootton 57-49 in their previous matchup back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Wootton's Malia Bellamy, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds.
